41st Annual Manzanar Pilgrimage

Filmmakers Alice Kim and Cindy Fang participated in the annual pilgrimage to Manzanar War Relocation Camp.

The big, crazy day! We used two buses: one for the Japanese round up scene, and one for the school bus scene.

We used the offices of our project partners, the Chinese Historical Society of Southern California, to film the scenes of Aya and her family at home.
